CHAKRA BALANCING

Chakra is a sanskrit word which means "spinning wheel". Based on eastern yogic philosophy, there are seven wheels, or points of energy running along our spine. Each chakra or energy center has its own purpose, association and connection with our physical, mental and spiritual being. Balancing the chakras is not only beneficial to well-being, but helps one unite the individual soul with the universal soul.

In this class, you will develope a better understanding of the chakra system through specific sun salutations, asanas(postures), mantras (sound vibration), Pranayama (breathing techniques), aromatherapy and specific meditataion. Learn to determine any imbalances in your body/mind and discover various techniques to bring the body back into harmony. Open to a higher dimension of conciousness and well being!
This class will be offered in the fall only. For the continuing yoga student, interested in a deeper knowledge of subtle body anatomy. This class is taught in a progressive style for the 9 week session.

All SESSIONS ARE
75 MINUTES

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I DO YOGA TO RECIEVE THE BENEFITS?

Yoga is amazing–even if you only practice for one hour a week, you will experience the benefits of the practice. If you can do more than that, you will certainly experience more benefits. I suggest starting with two or three times a week, for an hour or an hour and a half each time. If you can only do 20 minutes per session, that's fine too. Don't let time constraints or unrealistic goals be an obstacle–do what you can and don't worry about it. You will likely find that after awhile your desire to practice expands naturally and you will find yourself doing more and more.
